Your privacy is important to me. To better protect your privacy, I provide this notice explaining my online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, I make it available on my homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The only possible information I collect from you is the uploaded files, and your IP address. As a rule I do not review logs to see which IP address is associated with which uploaded file and logs are periodically purged.
After files are uploaded they are immediately extracted of text and the original file is deleted. Additionally your text file is erased after 222 minutes from the server without review.
Furthermore to prevent hacking your text file, in addition to to bearing the uploaded file names, is given a leader of a random number of 12 digits. Hopefully this makes the file name difficult for a hacker to discover.
Even though the recovered text file remains live for 222 minutes, repeated spoofing attempts by hackers should cause blocking of the hackers IP by hosting company simplyhosting.net. The mostly subjective nature of document titles along with the combined random numbers and blacklisting by simplyhosting.net make for fairly secure data or text. Nevertheless I am not a thoroughly trained security specialist and you should view the Web service as inherently insecure and imperfect and should not be used for classified or mission critical text or data.

Other alternatives are Ccy's Corrupt Office 2007 Extractor Command-line, Sandeep Kumar's docx2txt, Damaged docx2txtxt, which uses Sandeep's old algorithm, or Corrupt xlsx2csv, which differently, does not use code used by this service and may exceed quality of recovery done by the one method used here for XLSX files.
